Evidence-based early intervention that combines developmental and behavioral strategies to support communication, learning, and social skills in young children with autism.
The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is a comprehensive early intervention approach specifically designed for young children with autism spectrum disorder, typically between 12 months and 4 years of age. This evidence-based therapy combines the best of developmental and behavioral approaches to create a naturalistic, play-based learning environment.
ESDM focuses on building foundational skills through meaningful, engaging activities that feel like play to the child. Rather than using traditional table-top teaching methods, ESDM therapists work within the child's natural interests and motivations, making learning enjoyable and effective.
