An early autism diagnosis is the first step to getting your child the support they need.
Are you seeing communication difficulties or other signs of autism in your child? We offer comprehensive, tailored assessments for children to support a formal diagnosis. Receiving an early diagnosis and appropriate support can significantly improve a child's development and quality of life.
Ages Assessed: 2-16 years
Our Assessments are conducted by experienced and fully qualified registered psychologists.
Our comprehensive evaluations are detailed, extensive, and thorough, covering all essential aspects to provide a clear and accurate understanding of your child's strengths and areas for development.
Our assessment team utilizes a variety of tools, questions, and activities to assess your child's strengths and abilities. Each assessment is tailored to your child's unique needs.
The process begins with a referral from a GP, paediatrician, or even you as parents. No referral is required to book, however, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate with a doctor's referral.
The assessment team gathers information, reviews your family history, and observes your child. A variety of assessment tools and checklists are used.
A formal diagnosis is made, outlining specific details of your child's autism spectrum disorder.
With a formal diagnosis, you can get a personalised support plan to unlock your child's full potential.
Our therapists provide ongoing therapy and support parents to provide care at home.
If your child receives a formal ASD diagnosis, you can access support immediately. Our dedicated early intervention therapy is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of professionals:
Our detailed reports can be used to support funding applications, including those through the NDIS, giving you the resources you need.
Did you know that autism assessments may attract a rebate from Medicare?
With an eligible referral for Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder and eligible disabilities (from a paediatrician or psychiatrist—not a GP), you may attract a rebate.
This rebate may cover up to four of the assessment sessions with the psychologist and/or speech pathologist.
The rebate amount is generally $96 per referred session (check with Medicare for exact amounts and safety net thresholds).
